Bilall Kasami was born on July 31, 1975 in Tetovo. In 2000, he earned a degree in economics at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje. From 2000 to 2004 he worked in the Customs Administration of North Macedonia. In 2011, he earned the title of Doctor of Economic Sciences at the same university. In the period between 2005 and 2006, he held a position at the Ministry of Economy of North Macedonia, where after the expiration of his term in 2006, he returned to his job at the Customs Administration, where he stayed until 2008. From 2009 to 2014 he was a professor at the International Balkan University. From 2014 he temporarily withdraws from academic life to dedicate himself to politics. His academic career was resumed in 2017 as a professor at several universities in the Republic of Kosovo, where he continues to serve as a full professor at Dardania University. The BESA Movement was established on 22nd of November, 2014 and he was elected as its first chairman. He still holds that position today.
